Welcome to Oak Meadow United Methodist Church. We are a small church located in North Central San Antonio between Castle Hills and Shavano Park. We share the belief that small does not mean less. Our size permits a strong sense of community. Familiar names and faces promote a quiet comfort in belonging, sharing, and knowing one another. The sermon for Sunday, May 11th is "A Mother's Love." This message is based on the Old Testament Reading of 1 Samuel 1:3-20.

Why were Hannah's lips moving, but yet no sound came from her mouth? The Bible says she was praying from her heart. She prayed for a son so fervently, that Eli the Priest thought she was drunk. Hannah prayed for a son. God gave here a son. Hannah showed her thankfulness by dedicating her son to God. His name was Samuel.

What an example of a Godly mother! Mothers, have you ever prayed so hard that for your children that you weeped and were unable to eat? Have you dedicated your children to the Lord? Have you read the Bible to them? Have you taught them to pray?
