Ivan McDougal

 Long time members of the Oak Meadow United Methodist Church, Ivan McDougal and his lovely wife, Gloria, are true treasures to the congregation.  

Ivan regularly shares his many artistic talents with the church family.  First, an accomplished and world renown watercolor artist, we are fortunate to have two large oil paintings prepared by Ivan especially for the occasion of the 25th year celebration of our church.  These beautiful murals adorn the back wall of the sanctuary.  Second, Ivan has volunteered his time and talent in the instruction of watercolor in classes held at OMUMC.  Finally, Ivan is a regular member of the OMUMC choir.  

Ivan was born in Lometa, Texas in 1927 and attended school in San Antonio and Kerrville, Texas.  After service in the Navy, Ivan attended Trinity University in San Antonio as well as The American Academy of Art in Chicago.  Ivan has received numerous honors and awards for his masterpieces.  And, he's one of the founding members of the "Water Color Gang" of San Antonio.  He has served in leadership positions in several professional watercolor organizations including the Texas Watercolor Society. He is a charter member of the San Antonio Watercolor Group (SAWG).
